On Friday, May 25, Alan and Lisa Cumber, the owners of the Bracebridge and Parry Sound McDonald’s restaurants, presented Trillium Lakelands District School Board with a cheque for $17,210.
This donation made it possible for the new Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School to design and outfit a sensory therapy room to help local adolescents with disabilities integrate successfully into the high school setting.
The planning for this project began more than a year ago and the room is now fully functioning and making a difference for our students. This room would not have been possible without the tremendous support and encouragement from Nicole McLean, our occupational therapist, the Cumbers and associates at Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The staff and students of BMLSS would like to thank the Cumbers and all those involved in this project for their generosity and commitment in promoting the quality of life for our students with special needs.
