What is the matter with Bracebridge and Muskoka
May 07, 2008

A few weeks ago the district said that more tax dollars were needed for water and sewer costs. Now they are eager to put $6 million out for a bicycle trail on High Falls Road.

A trail, in my opinion, that will do very little for Muskoka.

Look into the future. Ask yourself, why not Fraserburg Road? There are a great number of cyclists using this dangerous road to ride on every summer.

Now some might say, what is this person thinking, Fraserburg? Fraserburg Road is a scenic drive, one of the best in Muskoka.

Bigwind Provincial park is at the end and will open in the near future.

What could be better and more beneficial for Muskoka than a nice, 14-kilometre ride to a provincial park. Take the family and spend the day.

Why did the district pass this $6-million project in such a hurry? Do they have spare cash to burn? If so, why don’t they sell the former Peake farm to the town of Bracebridge for $2, instead of a 50-year lease, for our ball park.
