Veridian offers workshop to business customers
Oct 10, 2007

Veridian Connections Inc. is offering a series of energy management workshops to help its business customers reduce electricity costs.

A workshop will be held at Taboo Resort Golf and Spa in Gravenhurst on Oct. 16.

Veridian business customers with monthly electricity costs of about $2,000 or more are encouraged to register. Full registration details are available on Veridian’s website at www.veridian.on.ca. Space is limited and registration is required.

The workshops will mark the introduction of Veridian’s Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP). The initiative offers cash incentives to help customers implement energy efficiency measures in their business operations.

The full-day workshop will be delivered by Veridian in co-operation with the Ontario Power Authority and Natural Resources Canada. Renowned energy experts from Waterloo-based TdS Dixon Inc. will guide participants through The Seven Steps to good energy management. Speakers will also be on hand to explain cost-saving lighting options and to discuss incentives available through ERIP and Natural Resources Canada programs.

“We hope the information provided in these workshops combined with the cash incentives offered through ERIP will put our customers on the path to electricity cost savings,” said Veridian president and CEO Michael Angemeer. “We see tremendous potential for improvements in energy efficiency in the areas of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, lighting and motors. Tapping these and other opportunities will save businesses money, help them stay competitive and reduce environmental impacts.”

Businesses do not need to attend a workshop to take advantage of the new ERIP incentives.

“Applications and worksheets to apply for the incentives are available on our website,” said Angemeer. “We encourage all of our business customers to explore and take advantage of this exciting new program.”
