1911 — 2007

Ilda Brousseau died in Kapuskasing on Oct. 8 at the age of 96 years.

Ilda was born on Aug. 8, 1911 in Uffington. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed bridge, tennis, curling, hunting, fishing and home decorating.

She was predeceased by her husband Donat, two sisters, Irene Pollock and Jessie Armstrong, and by one brother, Albert Taplin. She is survived by her children, Adele Jenkins (Hal) of Osoyoos, BC, Michael (Anne Marie) of Caesarea and Judith Macdonald of Kapuskasing; one sister, Ruth Haggerty of Pennsylvania; one brother, Elwood Taplin of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Kerrin, Cindy, Dana, Tyler, Megan, Rylan and Dustin; as well as two great-grandchildren, Bradyn and Tanner.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Guenette Funeral Home Chapel, Kapuskasing with Rev. Brenda Lumsden officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Centennial Manor would be greatly appreciated.
