Harvey Leroy Taylor passed away in Toronto on Oct. 11. He is survived by his wife Reta Kingshott; children Richard Taylor, Norine Peacock and Wayne Taylor; grandchildren Derrick Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Robbie Peacock, Cory Peacock, Dustin Taylor and Kylor Taylor; and sister Joan Inch. He was predeceased by his brother Charlie Taylor.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1932 in Bracebridge to Edward R.B. Taylor and Irean Taylor and lived most of his life on Taylor Road, Bracebridge. He attended Macaulay Public School until Grade 8 and worked as a sawyer at Taylor’s Sawmill and Bracebridge Lumber. His interests were hunting and farming.
Visitation was held at Reynolds Funeral Home, Bracebridge on Oct. 14. The funeral service was conducted at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Bracebridge on Oct. 15, Kelly Baetz officiating with interment at Nicholson Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Derrick Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Robbie Peacock, Cory Peacock, Dustin Taylor and Kylor Taylor.
In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
You fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
Will be sadly missed.
