Marie was raised in Blind River, Ontario and moved to Gravenhurst with her family. She married Maurice H. Keatley on March 20, 1944 in Terrace, B.C.
Marie worked for the Rubberset Company in Gravenhurst for many years. She expressed her creativity in cooking, gardening, knitting and china painting.
