On November 13, 2007, Eva Marion Bailey died peacefully, with her family by her side, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge.

Eva was predeceased by her husband James A. Bailey on February 13, 2000. She is survived by her sons Charles James Bailey, Michael Bruce Bailey and Paul Douglas Bailey. She was a grandmother to seven and great-grandmother to seven, including one set of triplets.

A funeral service was held on November 30, 2007 at the W.J. Cavill Funeral Home, Gravenhurst with interment at Mickle Memorial Cemetery.

Eva was born on August 1, 1919 at her grandparents home in London, Ontario, in the same house in which her mother was born.

She lived in London, Sault Ste. Marie and Cobalt. In 1940 she moved to Gravenhurst and lived there for the rest of her life. It was in Cobalt that she met James Bailey. The two were married in Toronto on February 24, 1941. The ceremony was performed by Eva’s father, Rev. Charles Geer.

As a wife and a homemaker, Eva devoted her life to her family.
