Bracebridge concert to highlight Christmas performance season
Dec 05, 2007

The Muskoka Men of Song will help people across the region celebrate Christmas with a series of performances throughout December, highlighted by a major concert in Bracebridge this Saturday, Dec. 8.

The Men of Song have chosen a stirring selection of special music to help bring the joy of the season to listeners of all ages. They are thrilled to announce their command performance at Bracebridge United Church on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. Special guests the Bells-A-Peeling bell choir will be joining the Men of Song for an evening that promises to knock the humbug out of anyone attending. Tickets will be available at the door.

Last weekend the Muskoka Men of Song were pleased to return to the Bala Community Centre to help entertain participants in the Trek to Bethlehem once again, having been mainstays at this one-of-a-kind event for a decade.

By special request, the Muskoka Men of Song will be carolling twice this Christmas season; first in the shops and businesses of Bracebridge’s Manitoba Street on the evening of Dec. 7, and then again at the Santa’s Village gift shop at 11 a.m. on Dec. 22 as part of the food bank/toys for children fundraiser.

Concerts at Price’s Corners Anglican Church (Dec. 5) and Washago Anglican Church (Dec. 15) round out the Men of Song’s performances for the Christmas season.

The Muskoka Men of Song is an open men’s choral group based in south Muskoka, conducted by Alana Hall and accompanied by Katherine Belisle. The Muskoka Men of Song assist young Muskoka-area musicians who need financial assistance in pursuing their post-secondary musical education through the Sean Kelly Memorial Performance Bursary.
