Unique art and artisan show and sale at Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre

Back by popular demand but in a new manifestation, Holly & Ivy is the inaugural art and artisan show and sale to be held at the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre, home of the Grace & Speed Boathouse.

This unique event takes place Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9. The art show will include 19 of Muskoka’s well-known local artists and artisans including Bonnie Bews, Jim Carter, Glenda Davies, Doug Dunford, Robert Dykstra, Lorraine Eidlitz, Margo Gracey, Linda Hrynyk, Kevin Joyce, Christine Marshall, M. Martin & C. O’Mara, Wendy Moses, Elise Muller, John Murden, Lynn Norris, Elisabeth Robinson, Stan Tait and Penny Varney.

Ann Curley, operations manager of the centre, hopes this event will continue to be a Gravenhurst tradition for years to come.

This is the perfect event to visit for the true art lovers on your gift list, with something original and unique for everyone, ranging from sculpture to paintings and prints, to jewelry and tapestry. The local artisan talent has endless items to offer to every art interest. Find the perfect piece for your collection.

Organizers and participants Bonnie Bews, Penny Varney and Christine Marshall hope to make this an annual event, offering everyone a chance for exposure to the great talented artists that they hope will continue to participate. Where else can you find Muskoka’s best artistic talent under one roof?

The Heritage Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is by donation. Enjoy festive music and peruse this local and unique talent. There will also be a light lunch available on-site. While you are at the Heritage Centre, don’t forget to enjoy some of the KringleFest events on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
