May G. Clift died at Leisureworld Muskoka in Gravenhurst on November 30, 2007.
She was born the daughter of Emmanuel and Amy Gertrude Williams in Gravenhurst on April 2, 1909. She had three brothers and three sisters. They were Charlie, Walter, Roy, Flo, Edith and Agnes.
May attended school in Gravenhurst and then went to business college. Over the years she worked as a clerk and a receptionist. She was paymaster at Brown’s Bottling and Central Plumbing and Electric.
May was married two times, first to Fred Girard on June 25, 1955 and to Bill Clift on August 20, 1971. They both predeceased her. She did not have any children.
She was also predeceased by her parents, her brothers and sisters.
May was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved gardening and travel. She travelled to both the east and west coasts of Canada.
A funeral service was held December 4, 2007 at W.J. Cavill Funeral Home, Gravenhurst, with Rev. William T. Cook officiating. He was assisted by two of her favourite surviving nephews, Rev. Myron Williams of North Carolina and Rev. Dennis Williams of Louisville, Kentucky.
