Marinas show pride in Christmastime donation
Dec 19, 2007

After a call for help was put out to the employees of the Pride family, five boxes and 30 bags of food were collected for the Manna Food Bank, as well as a large cash donation.

Leslie Ray, human resources manager for Pride explained that owners Paul and Karen Nickel asked the employees of the five different Pride locations — Pride of Muskoka, Pride of Muskoka West, Pride of Rosseau, Pride of Lake of Bays and Pride of Balsam Lake — to donate food items at the company’s annual potluck lunch.

The goal, said Ray, was to fill a pickup truck with donations, and the employees answered the call.

A Ford Escape SUV was completely loaded up and driven over to the Manna Food Bank location in Bracebridge.

“We really wanted to show everyone the Pride way of helping others,” said Ray, adding the donation filled the entire floor of the food bank building.

“We really enjoy helping other people,” said Ray.
