March 29, 1926 – December 28, 2007

Annabelle Webster (née Daigle) passed away peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on December 28, 2007.

Ann was a herring choker born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on March 29, 1926. She remained in Bathurst during her childhood and school years. She met and married Bill Webster, a bluenose from Halifax. They worked side by side in a restaurant they owned in Ann’s hometown. When they both had enough of that they started a trek that took them from coast to coast in Canada and the United States, eventually settling in Minden, Ontario where they worked as chef and baker in a popular family resort. The gypsy spirit had them travelling again and they finally settled in Bracebridge.

Ann and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 22, 1999, along with family and friends.

Ann will be profoundly missed by her children, Iris Smith and husband Randy of Emsdale and Tony Webster and wife Tina of Milford Bay; and her three grandsons, Dayton and Dallas Smith and Dustyn Webster.

Ann is survived by her sisters Lucienne, Mary Rose and Emelia, and brothers Cleo, Emile and Claude. She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Angeline, son Gregory and sister Evangeline.

She was cremated and her ashes will be taken back to the Maritimes. Her family will forever cherish the years she was with them and know that thinking of her will bring a smile to their faces. Their love, respect and thoughts will always be with her.
