Robert Gordon Burns died peacefully at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston on Friday, December 21, 2007. He was in his 84th year.
Residing in Schomberg, Bob was the beloved husband of Caroline (Wells) Burns and loving father of Patti and Doug of Schomberg, Scott and Shari of Hensall, Tom and Lisa of Glen Orchard, and Jim and Penny of Orillia.
He is remembered by his grandchildren: Alex and Krystal, Jessica and Andrea, Tim and Shona, and great-granddaughter Riley. He was dear brother of Harry (Don) of Forest, Ontario.
Bob served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and was the former owner of Lakeside Lodge in Muskoka. He was a founding member of both the Minett Lions Club and the West Muskoka Trail Riders.
The family received friends at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church, Main Street, Exeter, Ontario on December 28, 2007. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life was held at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham.
