Lois Noreen Old died in Bracebridge on January 15, 2008.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert William Old and her son Christopher Old. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Old and her brothers John K. Lawson (Ruth) of Bowmanville, E. Eugene Lawson (Irma) of Bracebridge, Michael K. Lawson (Mary Lou) of Sudbury and Robert D.D. Lawson of Bracebridge.

Lois was born in Baysville on December 3, 1927 to John Torrance Lawson of Dalkeith, Scotland and Julia Maude Lawson (née Kelly) of Baysville.

The education she attained at Baysville Public School, Bracebridge High School and Shaw Business College in Toronto enabled her to work as deputy master of lands and titles and registrar of deeds in Bracebridge for the District of Muskoka.

She married Robert William Old on October 9, 1954 in Baysville. Making their home in Bracebridge, they had two children. Lois was a member of the Catholic Women’s League.

A funeral service took place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on January 18, 2007. Interment will be at the Baysville Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
