Bracebridge

Feb. 27: LEO’S SPAGHETTI DINNER, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lions Hall, Fraserburg Road. Come enjoy spaghetti, salad, bread and a sweet — all for $7 per person.

Feb. 29 through April: KARAOKE CONTEST, $1000 first prize. Qualifying rounds 10 to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday at the Purple Pig. Registration $5 per singer. Bring your friends — singers qualify by crowd response.

March 2: Milford Bay Community Club SPAGHETTI DINNER, 5 to 7 p.m. the commun­ity centre. Adults $8, and children $5. Free bingo to follow. Come out and see your neighbours and get rid of those winter blues. Any proceeds go toward future community events.

March 3: COLOURS FOR HOME with Anne Marie Childs, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Daphne’s Drop In, Women’s Resource Centre, 29 Manitoba St. Info: 646-2122.

March 4: St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School DINNER THEATRE, 6:30 p.m. The student actors serve dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the feature presentation “The Swimmer” by Xavier Hogan. This production received awards for sound and directing at the annual Sears Drama Festival. All funds raised go toward next year’s entry into the drama festival.

March 4: SPIRIT CAFÉ, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Muskoka Bean, Manitoba St. at Taylor Rd. Good company, refreshment and open-minded discussion on issues of faith, meaning and life’s big questions. Topic: Coincidence or Holy incidence — How do we view the events of our lives as being in or out of sync with the workings of the Spirit?

March 5: SOUP KETTLE, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bracebridge United Church auditorium. Everything is homemade.

March 5: Meeting of THE CANADIAN FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN - MUSKOKA, 1 p.m. at Bracebridge United Church, Dominion Street.

March 6: BRACEBRIDGE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY MEETING, 7 p.m. at Monck Public School. Info: 645-4223.

March 7: WORLD DAY OF PRAYER ECUMENICAL SERVICE, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 541 Cedar Lane. Prepared by the women of Guyana, see how God’s wisdom provides new understanding.

Gravenhurst
