I would like to start by saying how great it is that we still have a great hockey tournament tradition (the recent Amazing Grey’s, and upcoming novice and Lovable Losers). What a great thing for our businesses to have hundreds of people in town for a weekend in February. Now for the bad part.
Why is it that the town cannot remove the snow and junk from the front of the arena. During the Amazing Grey’s tournament, I witnessed countless people who could not get out of their vehicle in front of the arena because of the snowbank.
We were not able to get our stroller from the parking lot to the front doors because the path was barely wide enough to walk through, and the slush and ice made it not possible to walk around.
I and many people I talked to were very upset.
I realize that the town has a budget and this year’s snow has been excessive, but I think the safety of our children and visitors should be a priority.
I hope that this is read by someone who can help so that the upcoming novice tournament is not overshadowed by an avoidable accident.
