I am responding to the article about Guhas. I am totally against a bylaw being made. I think that maybe the councillors and mayor should really take into consideration that no one or very few residents have really expressed any concern for their own safety.
I do not agree with caging large or small animals. However, people need to realize if these cats were taken, they would go somewhere unfamiliar and with less care and attention, which in many cases make exotic and domestic animals unruly and dangerous.
I feel that this issue should be left alone and so should Nanda Guha. I have never been to his farm and I have never met him. However, I do plan on going due to my great love for such amazing creatures.
Not threatened
by caged animals
I am a longtime resident of Muskoka. I was born here and I feel no threat from one of these cats. I feel more of a threat by other humans or domestic animals than a caged animal way out in the bush. We have such animals here to begin with (such as) wolves, foxes, (and) bears. Do we fear for our safety with them running around all the time (and) not knowing where they are and when we could have an encounter with them? No, because it’s the way the world works.
Do people fear these animals in India or Africa? Not so much. So why are so many trying to push for such a bylaw? We have no reason to fear. We are as safe as we have ever been.
I feel that Nanda is doing a great job with his cats and he loves them. I think everyone should go there and truly evaluate the settings and base your feelings on that. I think that everyone will continue to feel safe and maybe they will bond a little with these amazing cats.
