93-year-old man dies after car goes through ice on Lake Rosseau

Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, March 8, members Bracebridge OPP and area emergency services responded to a report of a car through the ice on Lake Rousseau near Paignton House Road in Minett. 

Police report a submerged Chrysler 300M was discovered approximately 40 meters from shore.  Members of the Twp of Muskoka Lakes Fire Department cold water rescue team removed one victim from the car.  William Archibald Pain, age 93, was pronounced deceased at the scene.   

Members of Bracebridge OPP, along with divers from the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and an OPP Reconstructionist attending the scene Saturday morning to continue the investigation.
