Thank you for showing the way
Mar 19, 2008

A huge thank-you to the Wayne Morris family of Doe Lake Road, who rescued me on Saturday night, March 8.

I had left the Gravenhurst Train Station after finishing the evening shift and was making my way home in the blizzard. With almost no visibility and deep snow on the roads, I missed using the ramp at Gravenhurst leading to Hwy. 11 north to Bracebridge.

After a few kilometres of knowing I was lost, I stopped and flagged down the vehicle that was following behind me. I learned I was on Doe Lake Road. Mr. Morris got me turned around and led me back to the highway, all the while the storm was growing worse by the minute.

The courageous act of caring and kindness greatly delayed their own arrival home. Had they not been there to rescue me, the remaining alternatives were grim.

What a blessing it is to live in beautiful Muskoka, snow, storms and all.

Once again, thank you so much for going out of your way for me.
