March 21 through April: KARAOKE CONTEST, $1000 first prize. Qualifying rounds 10 to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday at the Purple Pig. Registration $5 per singer. Bring your friends — singers qualify by crowd response.

March 21: EASTER EGG HUNT at the Bracebridge Fairgrounds on Good Friday at 1 p.m. Free for children 3 to 8 years old. Hosted by the Bracebridge Agricultural Society.

March 27: USED BOOK SALE hosted by the hospital auxiliary, 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. in the SMMH lobby. Hundreds of books, both hard covers and paperbacks, in a wide range of interest areas, as well as a limited selection of videos, puzzles and games. Low prices. Free parking for shoppers provided at the hospital.
