The Nipissing University Muskoka Campus is pleased to announce the presentation of The Rez Sisters by Canadian playwright Tomson Highway.
This “gutsy, gritty, funny, risk-taking piece of work…” (SICC review) will be presented by the Muskoka Campus Theatre Production class on Wednesday, March 26, 8 p.m. at Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre in Bracebridge.
Under the direction of professor Robin Clipsham, Highway’s award-winning play chronicles the lives of seven native women from the Wasaychigan Hill Reserve on Manitoulin Island. When the women’s adventures take them off the reservation to The Biggest Bingo In The World, their bond of sisterhood is tested and renewed. The many layers of the play show how the spirit world interacts with the real world in funny and poignant ways.
Tickets are $10 and available by calling the Rene M. Caisse box office 645-8400, or can be purchased at the Muskoka Campus of Nipissing University, 645-2921.
