James Joseph Lukeman, 70, of Sydney passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on March 13, 2008.
Jim is survived by daughters Margo Butt and Dawn Marie Lewis and by brothers William Lukeman, St. John’s, Newfoundland and John Lukeman, Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his father James, mother Margaret and wife, the former Margaret Wright.
Born in Antigonish, Jim was the son of the late James W. Lukeman and Margaret C. (Conway) of Point Edward.
Jim resided in Bracebridge throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. He worked at Alcan and was heavily involved in Bracebridge hockey.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Cremated remains of Jim and his late wife Margaret will be scattered at sea in Bermuda.
