What’s an hour of your time? Your favourite TV show, a trip to Barrie, one load of laundry, a dentist appointment, an oil change?

Congratulations to the Bracebridge residents and merchants who participated in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 29. What an excellent opportunity to examine our dependency on electricity and appreciate the amenities that we have at our fingertips.

We are shockingly disappointed in the overwhelming number of downtown merchants who opted out of showing respect for the environment.

In order to teach the next generation about stewardship and conservation, we all need to buy into these grassroots initiatives.

Let’s unite and prepare ourselves for the environmental demands we are facing.
