After a four-month investigation into the robbery of a smoke shop last December, police have arrested two Georgian Bay men including an employee of the store.
The initial complaint to police was that on Dec. 1, 2007, at approximately 5:20 p.m. two men allegedly entered the Cheap Smokes store on Muskoka Road 38 on Wahta Mohawk Territory, in the Township of Georgian Bay.
Police state the investigation revealed the incident was not an armed robbery as initially alleged.
Several large, clear Ziploc bags, each containing 200 cigarettes were stolen, say police.
Blake Decaire, 22, and Ben McKinnon, 32, were charged with public mischief and theft over $5,000. McKinnon was an employee of the store, police report.
