For several years, from early spring until snow time, local resident John Young does voluntary garbage detail. He calls it his exercise; I call it devotion to a clean town and environment.

He asks for nothing and receives nothing but does it out of his desire to help clean up our streets and highways.

A good percentage are coffee cups. Wouldn’t it be great if the coffee shops said, “Bring in 25 discarded cups and get a free coffee.”

Way to go John, Graven­hurst and Muskoka need more people like you.
