Gord Carey, The Source franchisee and owner of the movie rental business, said the new location opened April 4 after five or six weeks of preparing the space.

“The new building is better suited to us,” said Carey. “It’s more comfortable. I’m delighted we’ve seen new customers already.”

Carey said the move from his previous location on Sharpe Street was triggered by his landlord’s desire to sell the building. A bicycle shop is said to be moving into its place, Carey said.

According to Carey, Just New Reeleases has been a fixture in Gravenhurst for 15 years.

“I took it over nine years ago and added RadioShack in 2001,” he explained. A few years ago, Circuit City Stores Inc. bought RadioShack’s parent company and renamed the stores The Source by Circuit City.

The new location will also feature the South Muskoka Shield Jr. A hockey club’s clothing line, and a line of “scrubs”, clothing worn by medical staff.

Carey said he plans to extend his hours to seven days a week at the new location.
