Hello! We are the Port Carling junior curlers and yes, we were caught throwing rocks at houses, but not the type you’re thinking of, unless you are thinking of a curling house. From April 2 to 6, the Port Carling junior team, which consisted of Makaila Alloway, Tori Glecoff, Seth Alloway and Aaron Noonan, along with our coach Lynn McBride, travelled to Gananoque near Kingston to participate in the Timbits Curling Championships.
Makaila was skip and following her were Tori as vice, Seth as second and Aaron as lead. We were representing our school, Glen Orchard Public School. Makaila, Tori and Aaron are in Grade 7 and Seth is in Grade 5.
We played a total of seven games with six ends. There were 80 teams from all around southern Ontario competing in the Timbit championships. We made it to the top 20 teams and top 10 games out of around 300 games. Out of our seven games, we lost three and won four. On Sunday we were the top Muskoka team.
We were runner-up for our division and we received plaques. We also received curling club pins from the other teams we played. We had loads of fun and really rocked the house.
