There are many environmental issues facing our world today. If I were given a year to improve the Earth’s environment, I would focus on one issue the world faces today – our dependence on gas.

This dependence we have is so strong we have started wars and we have killed and deceived people for gas. I think it is time we do something about it and try to find an alternative form of fuel. Soon this problem will be too much for us to handle and by then it will be too late.

Gas has become a pressing issue for both Canada and the world in the past century, partly due to the fact that we are either too lazy or some people are too greedy to find an environmentally sound solution to our increasing dependence on it. There are many environmental problems linked to gas, both directly and indirectly.

Some possible solutions to the damage from fuel are encouraging people to make smarter choices for transportation. This could include driving smaller cars/hybrid cars, carpooling, riding a bike, walking and skateboarding. In Muskoka the best solution for transportation is that if you’re close to school you should walk/bike to school and when you’re going to town, why don’t you think about carpooling?

In my conclusion I would like to say that this is our world, and we need to keep it clean like it was our house.
