SHINE HAS 1,000 square feet of store space, offering unique products, and has added four more product lines.
As one customer said, “You haven’t lived until you’ve gone to Shine,” and it’s music to owner Kelly McBride’s ears.

She prides herself on offering unique products, believing it’s all about satisfying the customer and letting them bring out that je ne sais quoi.

“Every season I search for the latest designs and things I can bring the people of Muskoka — items that you can’t get anywhere else. Products that I know my customers will love,” she said.

This year isn’t any different as she has added four new product lines exclusive for the Muskoka area to an already impressive collection of unique items that includes jewelry, bags, wallets, baby and toddler clothing, picture frames and wide array of summer hats.

The four new lines are: Kameleon jewelry, Havaianas flip flop sandals, Harveys seatbelt bags, and Fruits & Passion bath and body products.

The Canadian-based company Kameleon, from Nova Scotia, offers interchangeable sterling silver jewelry. There are 40 base jewelry designs that include rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces and pins with a unique feature to accept interchangeable inserts called JewelPops, numbering in the hundreds. There are more JewelPops added every season and they come in a variety of colours and materials. Some of them even have semi-precious stones as accents.

The Fruits & Passion line of Quebec offers customers a great selection of home fragrances of green tea and exotic flowers, including a range of bath and body products.

“For us in Bracebridge it’s great because you don’t have to drive down south to find the Fruits & Passion products. If you need it, I likely have it, or I can order anything in the (product) line,” she said.

After receiving them as a gift more than a year ago, McBride cannot speak more highly of Havaianas sandals. She not only wears them now, but sells them and believes they will be a big seller for her since, there have been more than a billion other people who have bought them since the Brazilian company started 40 years ago.

“The minute you put them on they are the most comfortable sandals you’ll ever own,” she said.

The flavour of California is coming with her addition of Harveys seatbelt bags. The bag’s strength and design exist in its structure, overlapping of the straps, looking similar to a checkerboard. The company designs and produces bags that blend the utilitarian materials of the car seatbelt with the funky designs and bright colours of the West Coast. They are offered in a range of models, sizes and styles.

Although not new to the store, Shine also maintains exclusivity for the fun and quirky reversible photo jewelry Pick Up Sticks. The pewter-encased, double-sided pendants have a variety of images, letters and captions. Each one is different to suit a particular personality or mood of the wearer.

Since opening a year and a half ago, the 1,000-square-foot downtown Bracebridge store is not alone, with a new location in Huntsville. Most of Shine’s products can be found in either store, and all can be ordered in for you, she said.

McBride added that keeping things fresh is key.

“Every time people come in here there is something new. That’s what people look for,” she said. “If you’re looking for any of the hottest spring and summer trends it’s here.”
