Roberta Olene Williams (née Hastings) died at the Pines Long Term Care Residence in Bracebridge on January 2, 2008. She was in her 90th year.

Roberta was predeceased by her husband Charles Williams, her father Alexander Hastings, her mother Mabel (Malcolmson) Hastings and her brother Dell Hastings. She is survived by her sister Olive Laycock, and her children Gloria (Carl) Pratt of Gravenhurst, Sharon (Warren) Campbell of Sault Ste. Marie, Bob Williams of Stroud, Mike (Linda) Williams of Gravenhurst and Tom Williams of Gravenhurst.

Born in Toronto on February 26, 1918, Roberta lived in Barrie and then Gravenhurst, graduating from Barrie Collegiate Institute (BCI) as a certified hairstylist in September 1939. She worked as a hairdresser and on September 10, 1941, married Charles Williams. She was a member of Trinity United Church in Gravenhurst and enjoyed bowling, lawn darts and camping.

A time to celebrate the life of Roberta Williams will be held at the home of Mike and Linda Williams at 160 First St. South in Gravenhurst in the spring. Interment will take place in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorial donations to a charity of choice will be appreciated by the family.
