Lovable Losers host tournament
Our 23rd annual hockey tournament is finished for another year and I hope everyone had a great time.

In the men’s section, the True North Log Home Trophy was won by the Bracebridge Straight Shooters, Gagnon’s YIG Trophy was won by the If-N-Wenz, Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet Trophy was won by the Model T’s and the Lovable Losers Losingest Losers Annual Trophy was won by the Brew Bellies. The Lovable Losers Losingest Losers winners were the Bent River Blues.

The 7 a.m. game on Sunday morning (Women’s Lovable Losers Losingest Losers game) saw Ecclestone Cycle’s Kona Lisa square off against Parry Sound Don Cherry Jills. Screaming and yelling could be heard from blocks away from the arena, as the game was tied in regulation and tied after a five-minute overtime period going into to a shootout.

The Lovable Losers Losingest Losers winners were Ecclestone Cycle’s Kona Lisa after a seven-player shootout. Parry Sound Don Cherry Jills received the Lovable Losers Losingest Losers Trophy. Women’s Lovable Losers tournament champions were the White Water Women.

Consolation men’s winner was the hospital team and the second consolation winners were the Ice Bandits. Most sportsmanlike player awards went to Jeff Davis of the Tuesday Ten Stars, Sarah Pacey of Ecclestone Cycle’s Kona Lisa, Jesse Nicholson of the Bent River Blues and Karen Loates of the White Water Women.

The Home Depot High Noon Puck Shoot saw Aaron Back of the Bent River Blues nail the $25 hole.

I wish to thank all of our sponsors, players and Bracebridge fans for supporting our tournament. Mark June 22 on your calendar for our Lovable Losers 14th Annual Golf Tournament.
